Allees de Cantemerle, Bordeaux, France
Tasting note:
Medium body, blackcurrant, plum, sandlewood and tobacco leaf. This is so traditional it might as well be wearing a monocle. Good old school claret. Sometimes it's OK to play the classics.
Producer:
Cantemerle is a grand old estate and very fine Chateau with a venerable history dating back to the 1570s. In the last two decades, the estate has expanded considerably and a lot of work has gone in to modernising the winemaking process. The results are wines of undoubted class and elegance, with a surprising levity (thanks to its fine, grainy soil). Much like ourselves, these wines age very well.
Vintage: 2018
ABV: 13%
